Jeff Gerlomes | Chairman of the Board
JEFF GERLOMES, Chairman of the Board, is a partner in the merged companies of Napa Printing and On Demand Direct Mail and Bindery. The combined companies currently operate as two divisions handling everything from design to distribution of print related products.
     “With all the positive change underway in Napa it is more important than ever to continue our stewardship and not lose sight of the vision so many have worked to create.”
 


Mike Silvas | Chair-Elect
MIKE SILVAS, Chair-Elect, is President and CEO of Morgan Lane, Inc. a five office Real Estate Brokerage Company in Napa and Sonoma Counties. He is also Chairman of the Board for the wholly owned for profit subsidiary Real Estate Business Services, Inc. of the California Association of Realtors and Chairman of the Board of a subsidiary of Real Estate Business Services, Inc., and NHDLLC, a disclosure reporting company.
   “The Chamber is an important resource for the entire Napa community. It is also where the business community comes together to be heard and to keep up with what is happening.  From my perspective, it is vitally important to my business to be involved and stay involved.”
 


Jeri Hansen-Gill | Immediate Past Chair

JERI GILL, Immediate Past Chair, is a senior consultant with NewLevel Group, LLC in Napa. In this capacity, Jeri works with  the Gasser Foundation’s newly-formed nonprofit, Sustainable Napa County – an organization dedicated to building a comprehensive campaign for local economic, environmental, and social sustainability; and the Napa Valley Conference and Visitors Bureau. She is the former Public Affairs Manager with the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) and is also partners with her husband, Jim, in Wooden Nickel Wine Company. She is a Leadership Napa Valley Class 15 graduate and is Past-President of California Women for Agriculture, the state’s largest all volunteer agriculture organization.
       “One of my goals is to develop innovative ways to respond to our diverse and growing membership. Another is to encourage members to get involved in their organization by finding that which resonates with them.”

 


Cherie Knox | Treasurer

CHERIE KNOX Treasurer, is the AVP Regional Branch Manager for Redwood Credit Union. She has 25 years experience in the credit union industry, acting as the CEO of First Napa Federal Credit Union (now Redwood CU). Cherie has served on the North Bay Chapter of the California Credit Union League and is a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley.
     “My goal for this year is to build and foster relationships between local businesses and local consumers; to educate business owners about the very real benefits of belonging to our Chamber, and to collaborate with businesses and educators to provide our youth with opportunities to succeed in the business world.” 

 


Debra Dommen | Vice Chair Advocacy Council

DEBRA DOMMEN Vice Chair Advocacy Council, has been in the wine industry for over 15 years, joining Winegrowers of Napa County as their Executive Director in July 2002. She has also served on the staff of former Assemblymember Pat Wiggins as Senior Consultant to the Assembly Select Committee on California Wine. Debra currently sits on the Board of CASA and is a Leadership Napa Valley Class 17 graduate. She has also held the position of Executive Director for the California Cabernet Society.
    “My goal for the Napa Chamber of Commerce in the next year is to continue it’s stellar advocacy for the business community and support the continued evolution of Napa as it in turn supports the wine industry in Napa County.”

 


Randy Martinsen | Vice Chair Community Resources Council
RANDY MARTINSEN, Vice Chair Community Resources Council, is President & CEO of Accelerated Marketing Group, a Y2Marketing Agency, working to assist companies with their strategic and tactical marketing projects. He also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Redwood Credit Union, and has served on other boards throughout his career.  
        “I am looking forward to this year, and working with the new Green & Sustainable Practices committee, as well as helping the chamber become more active in other community groups and committees so that we are able to make a greater impact on promoting business in the Napa Valley.”
 


Michael Richmond | Vice Chair Membership Services Council

MICHAEL RICHMOND, Vice Chair Membership Services Council, is vice president and winemaker of Bouchaine Vineyards.
    “As a member of the wine community I hope to contribute a reasoned wine industry and agricultural perspective on issues affecting the Napa community as a whole. I hope to communicate a benevolent and responsible position that will help us make decisions that contribute to the vitality and sustainability of the Napa Valley.”

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS


Anil Patel 
ANIL PATEL, is the President of Wine Country Hospitality LLC and Premier Lodging LLC, which represent the operating companies for various hotels.  His responsibilities include accounting and finance, human resources and marketing. He is a member of California Lodging Industry Association, Asian American Hotel Owner’s Association, and California Hotel & Lodging Association.
    “This year I would like to maintain the strong level of commitment to business advocacy the Chamber has established by remaining active on the Board.”
 


Barry Martin 
BARRY MARTIN is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the City of Napa and the Public Information Officer for the Napa River Flood Project. He takes part in the Chamber Think Tank, and serves on the Legislative Action Committee and Infrastructure Task Force. A graduate of Leadership Napa Valley Class 19, he serves on the LNV Board, as well as the Board of Kiwanis of Napa and the New Tech Foundation. He also is Chair of the Napa Public Access Cable Television Board of Directors and a member of the California Association of Public Information Officials.
     “My Chamber goal for the next year is to help the community understand and appreciate the great changes that are taking place in the town we all love.”
 


Bill Lockhart 

BILL LOCKHART is a Limited Partner of Edward Jones Investments. He oversees the financial challenges of leading area families in his Napa practice. Bill is active in Chamber life, Sunrise Rotary and Junior Achievement.
   “My goal this year is to help the Chamber be a better champion of our community, and help members better understand the great benefits the Chamber can offer them.”

 


Brenda Roberts 

Brenda Roberts has been a business owner in Napa since 1986, when she bought Baker Street Downtown, the valley’s Tobacco, Clock and Gift shop. Brenda grew up in Colorado, is married to Ken Roberts and they have three grown children living in the area. Brenda is involved with Soroptimist International of Napa, and is a board member of the Napa Downtown Association.
    “My goal is that we work on a message for the community that reminds all of us that Napa is about the local people and the visitors and that our businesses are benefited by both and therefore need to be more accessible by offering hours of operation beyond 6 p.m. in order to broaden our tax base.”

 


Brenda Speth 

BRENDA SPETH is the publisher of Napa Valley Publishing Company Inc., publishers of the 4 Napa Valley newspapers, Business Times, Inside Napa Valley, Distinctive Properties and napavalleyregister.com. A journalism graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Ms. Speth has worked in the newspaper industry for 21 years. She began in 1984 and most recently was publisher of the Corvallis Gazette Times in Oregon.
    “My goal for the next year as a Board Member of the Chamber is to immerse myself in the business community to learn what our members need from their chamber.” 

 


Chris McDonald 

Chris McDonald is a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager for Comcast, with Marin, Sonoma, Napa and Solano Counties as his territory. His main focus is on strategic business development in the ever-changing telecommunications industry, with 7 years in institutional financial consulting and 3 years in corporate financial management as his background.
     “My main goal with the Napa Chamber is to support the City of Napa as a representative from Comcast that is congruent with the needs of Napa businesses and residents. Personally, I am looking forward to a developing involvement with other community and business leaders.”

 


Dennis Pedisich 

DENNIS PEDISICH, president and CEO of Napa Community Bank, has been a Napa resident since 1986. He is currently the incoming President of the College Foundation and also serves on the board of Justin-Siena High School Foundation.
     “My goals for the upcoming year are to support Napa’s economic vitality thru the retention of existing businesses and to encourage new businesses into the area; also to continue to support the ag preserve and to work on major traffic issues facing this county.” 

 


Don McConnell 
DON MCCONNELL is the Area Marketing and Sales Manager for Syar Industries, Inc. headquartered in Napa. A graduate of Napa High School, he attended San Jose State University and received a degree in Business Administration. He has been with Syar since 1986 and previously worked at Basalt Rock Company for 14 years. He is a past president of the Solano-Napa Builders Exchange and past board member of the Engineering Contractors Association. Don has served on the Board of Directors since 2002.
 

Don Shindle 

DON SHINDLE is General Manager of The Westin Verasa, Napa. Shindle has over thirty years of hospitality expertise, most recently overseeing the set-up and operations and three new Intrawest Hospitality Management properties under the Westin brand. Born in Ontario, Canada, Don is a member of Rotary Club International, on the board of advisors for Selkirk College’s Hospitality Program, a board director for Kootenay Rocky Tourism, and has also been a proud auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police since 1993. 

 


E. Dean Bowen, Jr. 

DEAN BOWEN is the owner Net-Flow Corporation providing a range of standard and customized Web based business building solutions. Dean graduated from Brigham Young University and is a Leadership Napa Valley Class 12 graduate, is President of RatedQ (an Organization of Entrepreneurs) and an Eagle Scout. Dean and his wife Rhonda Bowen are both native Napans and have three children.
     “I am honored to be associated with such business and community stalwarts and look forward to the next year. My goal for serving on the board is to figure out what “W” (wealth, wisdom or worker) I bring to the board and utilize that characteristic to continue creating a strong local economy.”

 


Elisabeth Frater 

ELISABETH FRATER is a partner in the Napa and American Canyon law firm of Gravett & Frater, LLP, and has practiced as a trial attorney since 1989. Her law practice is primarily litigation, focusing on business and commercial disputes, personal injury, and criminal and administrative violations. She hosts a Chamber-sponsored radio show on legal issues on KVON, is the author of a travel guide, and is a writer for several publications. A graduate of Class XIX Leadership Napa Valley, she also contributes to the community by serving on the boards of the Child Start Inc., The Wolfe Center, the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce., and the Napa Group of the Sierra Club. Elisabeth is also a member of Napa Rotary.
     “My goals for the year include being active in the Green & Sustainable Practices Committee, and helping to ensure that Chamber members obtain the value of being part of a well-run and well-regarded Chamber. I look forward to implementing the changes that were identified in the member survey.”

 


Jay Williamson 

Born in Napa, and returning in 1994, Jay took the helm of local men’s apparel emporium, Williamson and Company, in 1995. His father had started the store with a partner in 1975, and Jay is proud to continue the tradition of a family-owned business in downtown Napa. Jay is looking forward to sitting on the Board of Directors and contributing to building an ever-stronger market place for Napa’s business owners.  
    “I would like to use my experience to help enhance our downtown retail environment.”

 


John Glaser 

JOHN GLASER is Superintendent of the Napa Valley Unified School District.
     “I hope that the chamber can play a critical role in ensuring that the diverse elements of our community are working together to solve some of the thorny issues like transportation that would otherwise divide us. I also want to enlist the support of the business community to ensure that the school district is producing graduates who have the diverse skills they need to be outstanding employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders who continue to promote the economic vitality and unique quality of life that makes this valley an exceptional place.”

 


Julian Weidler 
JULIAN WEIDLER, Honorary Directory, is President Emeritus of the Napa Valley Economic Developement Coporation. Julian graduated from UC Berkeley in 1934. He was President and Chairman of the Board of Rough Rider, Inc. from 1955 to 1976. He has served as Chairman of Napa Chamber of Commerce, President of Napa 20/30 Club, Napa Valley B’nai B’rith, Napa Kiwanis Club, Queen of the Valley Hospital Foundation and the Napa Valley College Foundation.  Julian is a member of the Commonwealth Club of California, Napa Valley Country Club, the Napa Elks Lodge, SCORE and Parent Teachers Association.
 


Kent Kuhlmann 

Kent Kuhlmann is a Senior Managing Partner with Retirement Capital Strategies, (RCS) an independent wealth management firm with offices in San Jose, Danville and Napa. Kent runs the office in Napa and manages the financial affairs of a select group of families. Kent has served on numerous Boards in the past and is currently a member of Leadership Napa Valley Class 21.     
     “I hope to assist the board with my talents and provide the perspective of someone who has visited Napa for many years and now makes his home here. I love this place and I am committed to preserving what makes Napa so special along with meeting the needs for its future.”  

 


Kevin LeMasters 

Kevin is Vice President, Operations for Trinchero Family Estates, one of the valley’s pre-eminent family owned wine businesses. Kevin is a life-long Napan, a graduate of Napa Valley Leadership, Class 20, and is already a member of the Chamber’s Legislative Action Committee. He has also recently been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Wolfe Center. In his spare time you may see Kevin cheering his kids on in their sports fields or cruising the trail on his motorcycle.
     “My goal this year is to be sure that all Napa businesses know about the Chamber and all of its offerings. There are many benefits to being a Chamber member that many folks don’t even know exist.”
 

 


Linda Parks 
LINDA PARKS is the CEO of LIXIT Corporation, manufacturer of pet and livestock products. LIXIT was named Small Business of the Year by the SBA in 2006. Linda has lived in Napa for 34 years. She is involved in the Friends of the Napa River and the Mayors Committee on Disabilities.
    “Being on the Board of Directors for the Napa Chamber of Commerce has truly broadened my understanding of local businesses, issues and politics. I feel fortunate to be involved with a Chamber that is as driven and focused on the big issues that business is facing today.”
 


Mark Willey 
MARK WILLEY and his family love residing in Napa Valley. Mark is Chief Executive Officer of Bridgeford Flying Services and Actus Aviation. He is responsible for refining, developing and continuing the company’s 62-year legacy and mission.
    “I am honored to be affiliated with the Board as well as, the Legislative Action and Candidate Endorsement Committees, and Think Tank. I am most proud of the work and initiatives that the Chamber of Commerce undertakes on behalf of not just our businesses but also to maintain and preserve our unique Napa quality of life. I look forward to this upcoming year working with the board and staff on the many issues we will face as Napa continues to evolve.”
 


Merritt Fink 
MERRITT FINK, a past chair and owner of The Merritt Fink Company LLC, is a veteran hospital and non-profit agency executive with more than 30 years of experience in Arizona, the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest. Merritt lives in Napa with his wife Mary Lou.
     “My goals are to help sharpen our understanding of our members’ needs and provide access to new business trends. It’s very important for our businesses to have linkage with the community.”

 


Michael George 

MICHAEL GEORGE has managed the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa for eight years. He comes from a long and lustrous career in the hotel industry having served at the Four Seasons Clift Hotel in San Francisco and the Embassy Suites and Doubletree Companies prior to moving to Marriott. Michael has served on both the Marin and Sonoma CVB Board of Directors and re-joined the Napa Chamber of Commerce Board in August 2008 after a 10-month hiatus on official Marriott duty in Southern California. 
    “My goal for rejoining the Board is to communicate an emphasis on the benefits of tourism in the local community. The depth of revenue that it provides as translated to local services is tremendous and often under emphasized.”
 

 


Roman Montanez 

Roman Montanez first came to the valley in 1971 and has now been a proud business owner for the past 16 years as the proprietor of Quinto Patio Restaurant on Kilburn Avenue. Roman is very excited about joining the Board and digging into the business of building the City of Napa. If you ask Roman what his hobby is he will tell you that his life, his hobby, and his fun is all about Quinto Patio and spending time with his customers.
     “My goal for this year is to learn from my peers on the Board and share my enthusiasm for my customers and for doing business in Napa.”

 


Ryan Gregory 
RYAN GREGORY  is Vice President of Riechers Spence and Associates. He is Past-President and a Board Member of Leadership Napa Valley, Vice President of Kiwanis Club of Napa, a Board Member of Community Action Napa Valley, President of Brother Can You Spare a Dime, Chairperson of the Napa Chamber’s Legislative Action Committee and Past-President and Member of the Napa Engineers Society. A native of Napa, Gregory has two children.
    “I would like to see a more diverse cross-section of businesses involved in the Board and their decisions. I think the general public needs to be more informed of the hard work that the Chamber does for local business and the community at large.”
 


Sal Bianco 
SAL BIANCO is Director of Government Relations for The Doctors’ Company, a physician owned medical malpractice insurance company. He belongs to numerous associations.
     “I remain convinced that the Chamber is playing a vital role in dealing with community issues of economic vitality, education, and protecting our natural resources. The Chamber continues to provide leadership representing the employer community’s interests in workforce housing, transportation, and sound development policies.”
 


Sandra Elles 

SANDRA ELLES is the Executive Director of the Napa County Farm Bureau. She retired as vice president of government contracts and senior captain of the Blue & Gold Fleet in San Francisco after 22 years with the company. Past mayor and council member of the city of Cotati, she is married to Capt. Chuck Elles and has twin 20-year-old girls.
   “Our agricultural businesses generate a $9.5 billion economy for Napa County. I’m excited to continue working with the Chamber for another year and look forward to the opportunities that will help us sustain our robust economy and protect Napa’s world renowned Agricultural Preserve and great quality of life.”
