GREAT WINE CAPITALS GLOBAL NETWORK LAUNCHES WINE AND TOURISM
BLOG
For the wine tourist, organizing a trip to a wine region can
be a major challenge. Unlike ordinary travel guides, there are few guides to specifically
orient the wine tourist through the maze of wineries and events taking place in
wine producing countries around the world. When is the best time to go? What
are the best places to visit? Where can I get a good meal?
The answer to these and many other questions can be found in
the new wine travel blog created by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network,
made up of Bilbao/Rioja, Bordeaux, Cape Town, Christchurch/South Island,
Florence, Mainz/Rheinhessen, Mendoza, Porto and San Francisco/Napa Valley.
The blog, written collectively by experts from the Network,
leads readers to the hottest places to go and things to do in these vibrant
cities and their nearby wine regions. For example, where to sample grand cru
Bordeaux by the glass, when are the most popular wine festivals in southern New
Zealand, the Western Cape in South Africa and Mendoza, where are the best tapas
bars in Rioja and the most distinctive restaurant in the Napa Valley.
In addition, guest posts are contributed by wine, food and
tourism experts from around the world.
The Great Wine Capitals blog is an addition to the wealth of
information already available on the Network’s website about the cities and
wine regions as well as links to social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn
and Twitter groups.
Evelyne Resnick, the social media wine marketing expert,
says that the Great Wine Capitals “is the only such Network to encompass the
so-called ‘Old’ and ‘New’ worlds of wine and is really into Web 2.0. Long
life to their blog!”.
The blog can be accessed on the home page of the Great Wine
Capitals website (http://www.greatwinecapitals.com) or click on the logo on the left to go directly to the blog.
